Who we are

We follow Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). Visitors from Europe have the same rights described below.
What we collect
- My LFC account: first and last name, date of birth, city, phone number, email address and password (stored encrypted).
- What you save in My LFC: saved sermons, sermon notes, reading-plan progress, prayer list, weekly goals and fasting tracker.
- Profile photo, if you choose to add one.
- Community chat: the messages you post and the time you were last active (used to show who is online).
- Contact form: the name, email and message you send us.
- Security: your IP address is used briefly to block spam sign-ups and repeated failed logins.
- Cookies and local storage: to keep you signed in, remember your language (EN/FR) and your cookie choices. Optional cookies are only used if you accept them in the cookie banner.
- Videos: sermons are embedded from YouTube. When you press play, YouTube (Google) may collect data under its own privacy policy.
How we use it
Only to run your My LFC account and the community chat, to answer your messages, to keep the site safe, and to stay in touch with you about church life if you ask us to. We never sell or rent your information.
Who can see it
- Your notes, prayers and saved items: only you and the church’s website administrators.
- Your name, profile photo and chat messages: all signed-in members, when you use the chat.
- Your date of birth, city and phone: only the church’s administrators.
- Our web host stores the data on its servers.
How long we keep it
- Account information: until you ask us to delete your account.
- Chat messages: automatically deleted after 60 days (or earlier if you or a moderator delete them).
- Contact messages: only as long as needed to reply and follow up.
Your rights
You can update your details at any time in My LFC → Account details, and remove your profile photo from your dashboard. To get a copy of your information, correct it, or delete your account, contact us and we will do it promptly. You may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Children
My LFC accounts are for people aged 13 and over. Members under 18 need the permission of a parent or guardian. Children’s activities on the Kids page do not require an account.
